Mike Heisterkamp - General Manager/Director of Golf

Email:[email protected]Mike joined Chagrin Valley Country Club in 1991 as an Assistant Golf Professional under long-time Golf Professional and Golf Professional Emeritus, Jim Chapman. Following Mr. Chapman’s retirement in 1994, Mike was named PGA Head Golf Professional, a role he held with distinction for 24 years. In 2017, Mike was named the PGA General Manager/Director of Golf.
Mike’s playing career is highlighted by more than 20 victories in Northern Ohio PGA (NOPGA) events. He represented the NOPGA on five Ohio Cup Teams, qualified for six PGA Club Professional National Championships, and holds the Chagrin Valley Country Club course record with an outstanding score of 61.
Equally impressive is Mike’s service to the golf profession. He served on the NOPGA Board of Directors from 2001 to 2015 and held numerous leadership positions, including Tournament Director (2001–2007), Secretary (2008–2009), Vice President (2010–2011), President (2012–2013), and Honorary President (2014–2015). In recognition of his lifelong contributions to the game, Mike was inducted into the Northern Ohio PGA Hall of Fame in 2025.
Mike’s honors include being named NOPGA Merchandiser of the Year in 2001 and 2006, receiving the Bill Strausbaugh Award for mentoring in 2010, the NOPGA President’s Plaque Award in 2011, and the Section’s highest honor—NOPGA Golf Professional of the Year—in both 2009 and 2013.
Beyond serving the membership at Chagrin Valley Country Club, Mike’s greatest passion is mentoring young Assistant Professionals and helping them advance their careers in the golf industry. To date, twelve of his former assistants are serving as Head Golf Professionals at clubs across the country.
Mike has been married to his wife, Patricia, for 32 years. They are proud parents of three children: John (27), Nicholas (25), and Cara (20). Outside of golf, Mike enjoys cooking, studying golf history, and enthusiastically supporting all Cleveland sports teams. Go Browns!

Shawn Tompkins - Head Golf Professional

Shawn Tompkins, PGA is the Head Golf Professional at Chagrin Valley Country Club, where he oversees daily golf operations and works closely with members on instruction, tournaments, and events. Shawn has been at Chagrin Valley since the spring of 2014. After three years as an Assistant Golf Professional, he was promoted to Head Golf Professional in 2017.
Shawn’s teaching style is simple, approachable, and focused on what actually helps golfers improve—whether that’s fundamentals, course management, or using modern technology like launch monitor data to better understand your swing. When he’s not teaching, he’s busy planning events, working with juniors, and finding new ways to keep the golf program engaging for the membership.
Shawn has been married to his wife, Megan, since 2014. Megan is a kindergarten teacher in the Mentor School District. They have two boys, Luke (born in 2017) and William (born in 2020), who are both very active in school and sports.
In his spare time, Shawn enjoys working in his yard and attending sporting events with his boys—whether it’s watching them play or cheering on a Cleveland sports team.
Above all, Shawn prides himself on being accessible, approachable, and invested in creating a great golf experience for everyone at CVCC.

Antonio Bodziony - First Assistant Golf Professional

Antonio was born and raised in Northeast Ohio and is a graduate of Willoughby South High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from Lake Erie College, where he enjoyed a highly accomplished collegiate golf career. During his time at Lake Erie College, Antonio captured the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championship, earned multiple individual tournament victories, and was recognized as a two-time First Team All-Conference honoree. He also has a very decorated amateur career which includes claiming back to back Greater Cleveland Amateur Championship Titles.
Antonio’s passion for golf began at an early age, and he has been committed to the game since the age of two. This lifelong dedication ultimately led him to pursue a career as a PGA Golf Professional. Chagrin Valley marks Antonio’s first position within the Private Club Industry, following his previous experience in the golf department at Dick’s Sporting Goods. He remains an active competitive golfer, regularly participating in Northern Ohio PGA Section events. In his first two seasons competing at the section level, Antonio has recorded one tournament victory, multiple top-three finishes, and numerous top-ten finishes. In 2025, he was runner up in the Northern Ohio PGA Assistant’s Championship. Through his continued involvement in competitive golf, he has developed a strong passion for teaching and helping players improve their performance and lower their scores.
Antonio is currently expanding his knowledge of the golf industry while pursuing Class A PGA Golf Professional status through the PGA of America’s Professional Golf Management program.
Outside of golf, Antonio enjoys fishing, bowling, and supporting Cleveland sports teams. He played travel baseball throughout his childhood before an injury redirected his focus exclusively to golf. Additionally, he competed in high school fishing tournaments at Willoughby South and played a key role in founding the fishing club and tournament team at Lake Erie College. In his free time, Antonio values spending time at home with his family and his two dogs, Bexley and Simon.

Ryan Chipps – Assistant Golf Professional

Ryan Chipps is a golf professional in development with a strong foundation in both competitive play and golf operations. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management from Lake Erie College in 2025, where he also competed on the men’s golf team for two seasons before the program was discontinued. Following graduation, Ryan began progressing through the PGA Management Program and is actively working toward achieving Class A PGA Golf Professional status.
Ryan’s experience in the golf industry began at age 15 as a Golf Cart Attendant at Painesville Country Club, providing him with early exposure to daily golf operations and member service. He later advanced to Outside Services at Quail Hollow Country Club (Ohio), where he spent four years developing a strong understanding of private club operations, tournament support, and member relations. Ryan currently continues his professional development at Chagrin Valley, further expanding his experience in a high-level club environment.
In addition to his professional background, Ryan is an accomplished competitive golfer. He has competed extensively in amateur events throughout the Cleveland area, highlighted by a third-place finish at the 2024 Greater Cleveland Amateur Championship. In 2025, he partnered with Antonio Bodziony in the NOPGA Pro-Scratch Championship at Mayfield Country Club, earning another third-place finish. Outside of golf, Ryan maintains a strong interest in Cleveland sports, follows the Ohio State Buckeyes, and values spending time with family and friends.

Dan Stupka - Director of Outside Golf Services

Email: [email protected]Dan graduated from Ashland University in 1996 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Management. He also graduated from The PGA of America's Golf Professional Training Program in 2001 earning his status as a Class-A Golf Professional. During his PGA training, Dan was awarded the Titleist/Foot-joy Scholarship for achieving the highest grades in his class.
He has worked at some outstanding golf facilities over the years: World Woods (FL) 1996-1998, Chagrin Valley (OH) 1999-2000, Plumbrook (OH) 2001-2002, Catawba Willows (OH) 2003-2006, Thunderbird Hills (OH) 2007-2009, The Bridge (NY) 2010-2011, The Dye Preserve (FL) 2010-2012, and most recently at Stonewater (OH) 2013.
Dan has won 2 NOPGA section events, including the Pro-Assistant Championship with Mike Heisterkamp while working here at Chagrin Valley CC in 2000.
Besides playing golf, Dan's interests include: Fishing, Hunting, Browns football, Cavs basketball, Indians baseball, and The Michigan Wolverines.
